Meet Our Bears
Bear Spotlight - Meet Caleb
Tell us a little about your background—where did you grow up?
Hi there! I grew up in Amherst, MA, a small college town. I spent much of my time dancing when I wasn’t outdoors adventuring. I started as a teaching assistant at my local synagogue before eventually running my own classroom. Over the past
several years, I’ve continued working with children as a camp counselor, babysitter, and teacher. I graduated from Skidmore College and currently teach afterschool arts and
crafts in Harlem.
What inspired you to join the ShuttleCub family?
I learned about ShuttleCub while taking a dance class! During the class, I met a mother who recommended I check out ShuttleCub as an excellent service that helps
support parents.
What kind of energy do you bring to ShuttleCub as a Bear?
As a bear, I bring a fun, silly, and creative energy to my role. But like a bear, I also have a strong awareness of my surroundings and a protective instinct. I’m there to make
sure everyone gets where they’re going safely and joyfully!
What do you love most about being a Bear?
Brightening the day of the cubs I work with! Having great conversations, being creative, learning, and being a good role model for those I work with.
Fun fact time! What’s something unique about you?
I love watercolor painting, and in college I did blacksmithing and jewelry making!
When I am not shuttling Cubs, I am probably…. in a dance class!
I currently work with a dance company called the Barnhill Movement Collective (BMC), which blends contemporary, African, modern, and hip-hop techniques
and often incorporates elements of physical theater and storytelling.
Dancer energy on the outside, Cub‑safety choreography on the inside!
