Bear Spotlight - Meet Sim

Tell us a little about your background—where did you grow up?

I grew up in North Shore Staten Island and have been commuting around New York City as a whole since I was a kid! I have experience with every public transportation problem you could ever think of, and how to get around them! In high school I worked as a music teacher for kids of various ages.

What inspired you to join the ShuttleCub family?

I believe that being comfortable with commuting is an essential part of being a New Yorker. I want to help children gain this skill while they’re young— it’ll open so many doors for them later!

​

What kind of energy do you bring to ShuttleCub as a Bear? 

While my top priority is ensuring kids’ safety and efficiency, I also want to be a friend to them. They deserve to have a commute with someone easy to talk to!

​

What do you love most about being a Bear?

Knowing that I make a positive impact on a family! Life is so busy, and knowing that you don’t have to worry about how your child will travel through it will make it so much easier.

Fun fact time! What’s something unique about you?

My favorite neighborhood in NYC is Koreatown! The photo booths and karaoke are so fun.

 

         When I am not shuttling Cubs, I am probably….drawing or making music!    I play violin and guitar and am currently involved in a klezmer band!

Ready to Be A Bear?

At ShuttleCub, our Bear Runners are more than just transportation providers—they are passionate individuals dedicated to our mission of offering safe, reliable, and caring transportation for children. Focused on supporting the needs of busy Manhattan parents, they bring peace of mind to every family they serve.

  • Live in New York City or immediate vicinity

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Extensive knowledge of navigating  and getting around New York City

  • Pass a comprehensive background check

  • Provide at least 2 written references

  • Pass an interview and complete the onboarding process

  • Complete trial shuttle run tests proving timeliness, reliability and a strong sense of care and responsibility 

  • Maintain stellar ShuttleCub Run statistics, including punctuality and parent reviews (e.g., communication, safety)
